Gender, Technology and Power Networks
We cordially invite you to join our offDAC talk in Zaragoza, Spain:
In this edition, we will have a conversation with multimedia artists Azahara Cerezo and Paula Nishijima on the topic of Gender, Technology and Power Networks.
We will discuss the following central questions:
(The conversation is moderated by Silvia Binda, multimedia artist and offDAC founder.)
Azahara Cerezo investigates the scope and effects of digitizing processes in the territory, understanding it as a knot of elements linked to the experience of space and time, corporeality, the fragmentation of work or the crystallization of memory. Halfway between the hyperlocalized and the delocalized, her artistic practice wants to reflect on the limits of specific topics in their relationship with broader issues, such as unfinished historical conflicts or the violence of a capitalism that acts by dispossession. ****
Paula Nishijima is a visual artist with a research-based practice that unfolds at the crossroads of art, science, and technology. The relationship between individual and collective motivations is central to her artistic practice, through which she explores how new meanings, values and ethics are (co-)created through participatory and collaborative processes in art. Her work materialises through different media such as installation, video, and photography.
